Portal password rules

Portal passwords have the following requirements:

• Passwords must have a minimum of 12 characters.

• Passwords must contain at last one character of the following four types:

  • Uppercase letters (such as ABCD)

  • Lowercase letters (such as abcd)

  • Number characters (such as 1234)

  • Special characters (such as !@#$)

• Dictionary words are not allowed if they are 4 characters long or longer.

  • For example, “pass” and “word” would be prevented while the word “cat” is okay.

Password reuse

The last five passwords for a login account cannot be reused.

Password expiration

Each password is only valid for 90 days. After 90 days, the password will time out and the user must create a new one.
