Nuance Customer Engagement API

The Nuance Customer Engagement API (CEAPI) empowers you to bring your own custom channel to the Nuance chat system. This API enables you to connect any type of communication system that supports HTTP to the Nuance chat system.

The Nuance CEAPI supports communication transmissions between a customer and an agent for the purpose of supporting chat. Many services that are part of a standard web experience but not part of the core communication between customer and agent are not supported.

The following items are not supported by the CEAPI, and they must be implemented by the UI container

  • font size
  • print functionality
  • pre-chat
  • "thank you" image

Note: To avoid losing an engagement, every next message should be sent in no less than 60 seconds. Otherwise the engagement will close due to timeout.
