Calling Voice Platform with a SIP softphone
With the SIP audio provider, you can call Voice Platform with a SIP softphone. Dial the URI of the application using this syntax:
sip:user@hostname[:port]
Where:
- The user can be the name of a specific application, a phone number, or nvp.
- The hostname can be the hostname or IP address of the host running Voice Platform (specifically, the Telephony Session service).
- The default port is 5060.
For example: sip:MyApp@12.3.4.56, sip:1234@12.3.4.56, sip:nvp@mt-1023
When the connection is made, you can interact with the application, testing that it’s working properly.
Note: Install the SIP softphone on a separate host from Voice Platform. This avoids a port conflict with audio.sip.UserAgentPort, which by default is set to 5060.
