Troubleshooting
The following suggestions may help you handle problems with your application.
IRQ conflict error during installation
For a multiprocessor PC, you may have to change your hardware abstraction layer (HAL). Make sure you are operating with the MPS HAL. For help using MPS HAL, see support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q237/5/56.ASP.
Initialization of Telephony Session service fails
To avoid contention between two competing processes for the same audio provider channel on a given machine, Nuance audio providers use a file-based locking scheme. If your Telephony Session service initialization fails with a return status of NUANCE_TELEPHONY_DEVICE_BUSY or NUANCE_AUDIO_DEVICE_BUSY, some other process is already using the requested audio/telephony channel.
Check the audio.nms.Lines and audio.nms.SecondaryDevice service properties to make sure to make sure they’re not using the same ports. If these are configured correctly, then stop the watcher service via the Windows Services Control Panel and delete the nuance_resources_locks file located in the WINDOWS directory. Restart the watcher service
