Create an Autoprompt

Use autoprompts to speed data entry for filters at runtime.

1. Create an autoprompt by selecting a column and clicking the Field tab, Filter group, Prompt. This opens the Filter dialog for creating an auto prompting parameter that you can select when processing a report.
2. Use the Filter dialog to create filters and auto prompting parameters.

Allow Multiple Values for Prompt —displays a multi-select menu in the output window when you create a dynamic auto prompting parameter for a field and run the report.

The Filter dialog creates a filter that displays a dynamic auto-prompt, when the report is run, for the Product field. The dynamic auto-prompt lists products that you can select.

For example, a Parameter Value Prompt is displayed when you run a report after creating a dynamic autoprompt parameter for the Product field.

• Selecting Allow Multiple Values for Prompt while creating a dynamic auto prompting parameter, a multi-select menu is displayed when the report is run.
• Selecting multiple parameter values displays output in the same window as the prompt.
