swiep_waveform_logging_max_channels

Maximum number of channels to save waveforms (recordings of speech from callers).

Value

Integer: -1–INT_MAX.

Default

-1 (no maximum)

By default, all sessions write waveforms when waveform logging is enabled.

How to set

In Management Station set on the Nuance recognition service. If not using Management Station, set in a Recognizer configuration file (User-nrsxx.xml).

Usage

Occasionally used by system administrators to control the cost of waveform logging on a recognition host.

This parameter reduces CPU load and disk storage by limiting the number of endpointers that write waveforms.

One drawback of limiting collection is that you reduce the total amount of data available for analysis. (When analyzing calls, you cannot listen to calls that were not saved.) Another drawback is that very active applications with many or very long utterances can use up most or all of the logging channels and make it difficult for less active tenants to log their utterance waveforms.
