defaultHostName

The name of the host where the Resource Manager can connect to the Krypton instance.

Value

String

Default

(The hostname value in defaultNetworkInterface, if set. Otherwise, the full hostname.domainname of the system where the Krypton instance is running.)

How to set

In Management Station, set on the Krypton service. If not using Management Station, set in the Krypton configuration file (User-kryptonxx.yaml, seeConfiguration roadmap).

Usage

Changed by system administrators during initial system configuration.

When a host has more than one hostname (a multi-homed host), use this property to specify which name to use.

Krypton supplies the hostname when registering with resource manager. Later, the resource manager uses it to periodically ping the network to ensure availability of the Krypton host.

When you set up secure communications for your deployment (see Securing connections with SSL/TLS), you must ensure that the hostname in this value matches the Common Name (CN) in Krypton's server certificate. For example, the connection fails if the certificate specifies hostname, and this property defaults to hostname:domain.
