Vocalizer architecture

You use Vocalizer within a Nuance Speech Server environment for over-the-telephone environments. This configuration is suitable for any large server-based deployment. Application developers create standard VoiceXML documents. Vocalizer serves as a text-to-speech (TTS) resource that receives requests after the VoiceXML has been interpreted by a voice browser and the Speech Server. See Using Vocalizer with Speech Server.

All components are installed in the Vocalizer installation directory or one of its subdirectories. The VOCALIZER_SDK environment variable specifies the installation directory (referred to as the install_path) for the Vocalizer for Enterprise product.
